Julian’s areas of practice include mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private equity, joint ventures, corporate restructuring and general commercial contracts and advice.

Julian represents corporate clients on domestic and cross-border transactions, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions and private equity and venture capital transactions. He regularly acts for financial and strategic investors and high-growth companies in their investments, acquisitions and other corporate transactions.

Clients have noted that Julian has “forged a great practice as a very agile and commercial negotiator”, is “highly technical and reliable” and “has very sharp thinking with excellent communication skills”

Chambers Asia-Pacific also notes that Julian “is capable of handling both domestic and international transactions” and “is particularly highly rated for his venture capital practice in Singapore”.  

Julian has been recognised for his work in mergers and acquisitions and venture capital. Julian has been a member of the core working group for the development of the Venture Capital Investment Model Agreements (VIMA) – an initiative of the Singapore Academy of Law and the Singapore Venture and Private Capital Association – since its establishment in 2018.

Julian has spent time on secondment with Fenwick & West LLP in Silicon Valley, where he worked with technology and emerging companies on a broad range of corporate transactional matters and venture capital financings.
